Job Overview

The Sr. Commercial Operations Manager plays a vital role by partnering with Sales, Legal, and Business Units to negotiate contracts, analyze risks, and support commercial agreements and MSAs. This position directly improves the efficiency and effectiveness of commercial practices, ensuring compliance with risk management processes. The role drives operational excellence and strengthens deal-making, focusing on proper risk mitigation throughout the contract lifecycle while aligning with customer requirements and offering measured solutions for the Grid Automation business.

A Day In The Life

  • Prepare redlines for T&Cs, evaluate deal risks, and obtain necessary BU approvals.
  • Support negotiations with customers and Grid Automation VP GMs to optimize company growth and value.
  • Exercise judgment to resolve complex issues and keep agreement timelines on track.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to ensure prompt responses to T&Cs under negotiation.
  • Review and assess proposal risks, working with proposal management to deliver high-quality proposals.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Required:



  • Over 10 years' experience negotiating commercial contracts in the energy/utilities sector, ideally within utility or energy markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or Economics from an accredited institution.
  • Expert in preparing and negotiating commercial contracts and MSAs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities.

  • Collaborative mindset with foundations of supporting our customers both external and internal, spirit of collaboration with other functions, growth mindset and value selling skills.
  • Strong motivation to apply Lean principles to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • MBA degree desired
