Job Summary

We're looking for a full-time staff Quality Engineer to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Texarkana, Texas.



In the role, you will provide Quality Engineering support and coordinates quality activities of workers engaged in inspecting the final quality of components and finished products for assigned program. You'll also lead team with training matrix reviews, help coordinate customer actions and root cause analysis, and develop and reviews program quality plans and help lower-level QE's on determining customer requirements.

As a Quality Engineer 3, here's the work you'll do:

* Provide direct Quality Engineering support to assigned programs. Plans and executes innovative, problem and defect prevention/process improvement methods. Apply statistics to problem solving and reports. Applies knowledge of military and other technical specifications to prevent, correct and resolve quality related problems with suppliers of purchased materials, customer and/or government supplied materials. - 45%


* Coordinate Quality Management System (QMS) related functions, relays instruction regarding use of inspection methods, quality tools, (FMEA, process mapping, Root Cause analysis, SPC, and Inspection equipment use. - 20%


* Prepare plans, execute projects, and deliver reports for quality engineering projects which are required for proper implementation and incorporation of quality into related programs. - 10%


* Receive and review technical data for assigned programs, prepares and maintains necessary documentation to support the QMS. - 10%


* Responsible for all First Article Testing and product inspection for supplied parts and ammunition items in assigned programs. - 10%


* Prepare required reports and assure appropriate supporting records are maintained. And any additional duties assigned. - 5%

* Thorough understanding of safe operating procedures and ability to communicate same to employees and hold them accountable to following them.

* Problem solving skills focused on solutions and involving all ideas from all employees.


* Knowledge of known biases and ability to set them aside as they consistently implement all company policies


* Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; Look for ways to improve and promote quality; Apply feedback to improve performance; Monitor own work to ensure quality.


* AS9001/ISO 9001 - Auditor Level Knowledge.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Quality, Technical, or Engineering field
  • 5 years of related experience

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $$68,480 - $ 102,720. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
