The Role: Roquette HPS (Health and Pharma Solutions) Division is seeking a Lab Analyst to join our POLYOX business located at the Institute site near Charleston, WV! Roquette is a world leader delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across food, health, and pharmaceutical industries. This is a fulltime role scheduled on a rotating 12hour shift. The position is based at the Polyox manufacturing facility in Institute, WV. Compensation: The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $30-$40/hourly In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location. What You'll Do:
  • Review analytical requests for value and alignment with goals
  • Route analytical requests to the appropriate service provider
  • Calibrate and maintain equipment
  • Implement response plans for requests
  • Schedule and perform work according to the Sample Plan, Emergency Contingency
  • Plans, maintenance and Quality Control schedules
  • Schedule and perform advanced calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical systems
  • Collect samples that involve complex procedures
  • Perform non-routine and complex routine analyses
  • Monitor analytical systems, evaluate validity of data, apply statistics, interpret results, and take appropriate action
  • Document, communicate, and archive analytical results, calibration and maintenance data
  • Perform first line troubleshooting of laboratory Information Technology (IT) and data handling systems
  • Monitor and maintain calibration standards and consumable items
  • Manage raw material and product retain samples
  • Help troubleshoot plant and customer problems
  • Implement and verify the performance of new equipment
  • Assist in adapting and implementing laboratory IT and data handling systems to the needs of the unit
  • Network with others to leverage technology, and problem solving and prevention
  • Continuously improve EH&S and analytical performance
  • Participate in reviews to identify opportunities to optimize the number of analyses performed on-line and in the lab
  • Follow, document, and train others on the Analytical Work Process (AWP), analytical systems, and EH&S and ODMS procedures
What You'll Need: Education:
  • An Associate's degree or higher in a science related field
Experience:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex clothing, and protective eyewear
  • Willing and able to: lift/move 50 Lbs., climb stairs and ladders; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, utilize visual acuity, reach overhead
  • Willing to work a 12-hour, rotating shift schedule
The Following is Preferred
  • 2+ years working as a lab analyst or lab tech in a petrochemical lab
  • Experience with LIMS or equivalent system
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience working in cGMP facility
  • Note: For consideration for the position, candidates must participate and be successful in an online assessment, interview process, and pass a drug screen, background check, physical screen, etc.
  • There are no direct reports associated with this position and role will report to Business Quality Manager.
Work Environment
  • This is a full-time hourly position typically in a laboratory environment.
  • Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; work in hot, cold and loud environments.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position working a rotating 12 hour shift.
  • On occasion, additional work may be required outside of this time and can include weekends.
Business Travel:
  • Limited Business Travel is expected for this position.
