We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our team, working full-time with a 3x12 schedule per week, including day/night rotation, every other weekend, and holidays. The ideal candidate will hold a BLS certification through AHA/RQI and possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent education. Post-secondary education in Health or Human Services is required, along with 1-2 years of customer service or health-related experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary to address the personal needs and comfort of patients in an environment that promotes dignity and healing.
- Conduct vital signs and activities of daily living as outlined in the plan of care, including ADLs.
- Assist with hourly rounding and document care rendered per guidelines.
- Meet nutrition needs of patients as outlined in the plan of care, perform meal delivery, set up trays and adaptive equipment, assist with feeding, and distribute nourishments while honoring patient choices.
- Maintain patient comfort and safety as outlined in the plan of care, including turning and positioning patients, providing skin care, and promptly answering call lights/alarms.
- Ensure rehabilitation needs are met, including ROM, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices.
- Identify changes in patient physical and emotional status and report changes promptly to the nurse.
- Participate in shift changeover communication, providing complete and relevant information about patients cared for.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, computer literacy, and a customer service/patient-centered focus.
- Possess a basic knowledge of healthcare and the role of a nursing assistant.
- Exhibit behaviors consistent with the Healing Environment principles of professionalism, effective communication, and attention to the environment.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, with an understanding of the principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
- Be prepared for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, with required tasks involving potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
Skills
- BLS certification (AHA) - Required
