Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and in keeping with unit specific standards, provides patient care to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients; and assists members of the health care team.As an integral member of the patient care team, serves both internal and external customers including patients, nurses, physicians and other colleagues who support the delivery of care and services. Welcome Summer Nursing Students! About Us: The Student Nurse Aide (SNA) is responsible for providing patient care under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse. I. Major Responsibilities: 1. Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patient/s. Examples, but not limited to, changes in skin condition, vital signs, and/or mental status. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: Education:High school diploma or GED. Also, currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and graduating in either 2027or 2028. Preference will be given to students attending local colleges who could potentially work as SNAs for two consecutive summers, as well as school breaks. License/Certifications:If not currently certified, CPR/BLS is required within 30-days of hire Experience:Must have completed one Med/Surg clinical rotation. We anticipate having openings in the following departments: Emergency Department, Med/Surg, Short-stay, Medical Oncology, Cardiac, Orthopedics/Surgical,Endoscopy, PACU, ICU, Maternity, and the Float Pool. * New SNAs will be required to attend orientationMay 18thfrom 8:30a-4:00p (Virtual), May 19th 8a-4:30p, and May 20th 8a-4:30p * SNA's must be able to work a minimum of 24 hrs per week during the summer *Two letters of recommendationmust be provided during the interview process. One of them must be from a Clinical Instructor. The other may be from a second Clinical Instructor, Professor, or Employer. *Applicants must be available to interview via zoom or in-person.Please submit a cover letter telling us something about yourself and the areas of nursing that most interest you. Please include the dates you will be available to interview (via in-person or by zoom) in February or March 2025. Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
