Job Summary

This person is responsible for design, install and monitor the manufacturing process, including the definition, ordering and control of tooling and process equipment. Coordinate our manufacturing resources (work force, machines, materials, methods) such that a system of continuous improvement is created. Quality improvements, cycle time reduction, and cost reductions are the typical objectives of the continuous improvement process. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors

  • Initiate and implement manufacturing processes and procedures which improve quality and/or reduce set-up time and cycle time. This is accomplished through thoroughly analyzing the existing methods and then working with manufacturing management and the work force to develop new procedures and ensure the new procedures are understood and followed.
  • Troubleshoot processes and implement countermeasures to assist production in producing a high-quality product in the most efficient manner.
  • Coordinate employees to create an environment of continuous improvement based on tapping the knowledge of the entire work force.
  • Train operators on the correct process and tooling required to produce a quality product and to maximize the output.
  • Analyze and coordinate the acquisition and installation of new equipment which meets the Principal Objective. The general guideline is to seek new equipment which assists the work force versus seeking equipment which demands the assistance of the work force.
  • Coordinate the installation of new equipment. Ensure all preventative maintenance and autonomous maintenance is captured to ensure the reliability of the equipment.
  • Analyze and coordinate the use of alternative materials where such alternatives meet the Principal Objective. This entails obtaining input from vendors and/or UL, scheduling production of samples, coordinating the internal and external testing of the samples, and ensuring the material changes are properly documented by ECN's and the respective manufacturing specifications.
  • Support daily activities from manufacturing process such Problem Solving, Kaizens, 5S, 8D
  • PFMEAS administration.
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Preferably in mechanical, industrial or electrical).
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • 5-10 years of industrial experience (Wire & Cable experience preferred)
  • Microsoft Office
  • AutoCAD
