Position Description:

Introduction

The Belin-Blank Center has an open Postdoctoral Scholar position for an individual with expertise in talent development and quantitative and/or qualitative methodology. The scholar will support ongoing and new projects at the Belin-Blank Center involving talent development, psychosocial functioning, twice-exceptionality, academic acceleration, and program evaluation. The Postdoctoral Scholar will enhance the research mission of the Belin-Blank Center by supporting the Center's faculty and staff to identify and implement appropriate quantitative and qualitative methodological designs and analyses.

Details:

The Postdoctoral Scholar will assist with activities related to multiple projects, including collaboration and coordination with school sites and key personnel; coordinating with school partners; data analysis and interpretation; and dissemination of findings. Additional duties may include contributing to writing grant proposals; working with large datasets; analyzing data for accuracy and data integrity; developing questionnaires for follow-up studies; collaborating with scholars across UI and within the field; presenting findings at conferences; co-authoring research papers; and assisting with annual reports for grants and contracts. The scholar may supervise one or more graduate students who assist in these research-related activities.

Appointment: 2-year, fiscal year appointment, set to start immediately upon hire until June 30, 2028.

A PhD in Educational Measurement and Statistics, Educational Psychology, School Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Relevant experience/scholarship in talent development, applied psychology, and/or gifted education.

Experience with research teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Writing and obtaining external funding.

Teaching at an Institute of Higher Education.

Data analysis with large datasets.

Supervising and mentoring graduate students.
