Acara Solutions is looking to hire an IT Support Specialist part time for our partner located out in Katy, TX who specializes in manufacturing and distribution.
Here is what you will get:
Location: Katy, TX
Hours: 20 hours a week
Pay Rate: $30-$35/hr DOE
Here is what you will do:
The IT Support Specialist will provide Tier 1 support for approximately 100 users, ensuring employees have reliable technology and a seamless day-to-day experience. You will partner closely with the Senior IT Manager to maintain systems, devices, and connectivity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1 technical support for Windows (10/11) and Apple (macOS and iOS) devices.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace administration.
  • Diagnose and resolve OS issues, software errors, hardware failures, and connectivity problems.
  • Deliver responsive, high-quality support with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Support employees in both office and warehouse/manufacturing environments.
  • Manage device provisioning using Rippling IT to ensure new hires are fully set up on day one.
  • Maintain standardized device configurations, software installations, and security settings.
  • Perform laptop upgrades (RAM/SSD), peripheral troubleshooting, and coordinate vendor repairs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software assets and ensure licensing compliance.
  • Manage user access and identity administration in Google Workspace and enterprise applications (NetSuite, HubSpot, Adobe).
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of Wi-Fi access points, firewalls, switches, and VPN connectivity.
  • Maintain printers, warehouse barcode scanners, and related equipment.
  • Assist the Senior IT Manager with projects and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting both Windows and Mac environments.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace administration.
  • Experience providing end-user IT support (Tier 1 or similar).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Comfortable supporting users in office and warehouse/manufacturing settings
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience with Rippling IT or similar device-management platforms.
  • Basic networking knowledge (Wi-Fi, VPN, switches).
  • Experience with asset management and device lifecycle processes.
