Maintenance and Repair Tech II

The Maintenance and Repair Technician II positions offer the opportunity to apply general maintenance, repair, and renovation skills in a welcoming environment offering full-time, regularly scheduled work and a generous benefit package. * Diagnose, service and maintain plumbing and electrical systems and equipment. Test and maintain fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
* Independently troubleshoot, maintain, and repair specialized equipment and building systems. Services and maintains building systems.
* Complete renovation projects. This may include installing flooring and cabinets, demolition/construction of spaces.
* Repair and service building hardware and custodial equipment. Make minor furniture repairs and adjustments.
* Coordinate with other departmental staff in the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.

Housing and Dining Services is a large, self-operated auxiliary department serving more than 5,000 students that call the K-State campus home. Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires one year of relevant experience.
• Various training and/or certification may be required.
• Valid driver's license required upon employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School graduation/GED
• Journeyman level experience in one or more skilled/mechanical trades.
• Strong troubleshooting and effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in a variety of trades and knowledge of codes, hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to effectively interact with others.
