About the role:
As a Customer Solutions Engineer on the Americas Engineered Systems & Solutions team, you will lead both business unit and engineering teams. You will identify and develop products and services tailored to address complex technical challenges faced by utility customers. We ask that you have a combination of technical expertise and business acumen to deliver solutions that position us as a trusted partner. You will report to the Sr. Customer Solutions Manager. This position can be based out of either our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA, or our corporate headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the offerings within the NSSS engineering area. This includes, but is not limited to, Reactor Mechanical Products, NSSS Components such as Reactor Vessel Heads, Control Rod Drive Mechanisms, Simplified Head Assemblies, as well as Steam Generators, Pressurizers, Heaters, and Chemistry systems.
- Initiate and foster business relationships with utility customer engineers and management, positioning Westinghouse as a consultative and strategic partner in the market.
- Lead the development of proposals in the NSSS domain and oversee complex customer negotiations to secure contracts that drive profit margins and revenue growth.
- Analyze Request for Quotation (RFQ) requirements, coordinate with engineering and supply chain teams for scope and cost estimates, and help develop pricing strategies that support our governance processes.
- Evaluate customer needs and industry trends to identify opportunities for revenue and margin growth, working to bridge both technical and commercial gaps and strengthen Westinghouse's market position.
- Support the Customer Solution Manager in financial forecasting (SOPAR) by providing accurate assessments of financial timing and outcomes, and collaborate with ESS project execution stakeholders to surpass revenue and margin objectives.
- Assist Project Managers and Contract Managers with contract changes and related activities.
- Help develop and execute strategic plans, from individual product strategies to broader departmental business plans.
- Facilitate opportunity management and work with Global Markets and Sales to maintain the opportunity database (D365), including collaboration with Supply Chain and other profit centers to predict and forecast opportunities.
- Provide interface support for Growth Planning, Key Opportunity Reviews, Marketing Material preparation, and Capture Plan development.
- Communicate effectively and confidently with Westinghouse leadership, conveying complex technical and financial information both informally and through formal presentations. Understand the interactions between company functions involved in opportunities and projects, such as Finance, Legal/Contracts, Quality, and Supply Chain.
- Perform responsibilities with a high degree of independence, following through on actions and commitments and demonstrating accountability for achieving results.
- Foster the development of Customer Solutions Management skills within the organization to ensure coverage during absences and to support succession planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
