SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
REPORTS TO:
A Senior Project Manager reports to the Regional Manager / Senior Operations Manager.

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Senior Project Manager is a middle management role that maintains working relationships with key customers to
manage source testing projects for an industrial or specialty sector regardless of geographical location. The Senior Project
Manager should be an Alliance Source Testing (AST) subject matter expert(SME)for all regulatory,testing, and analytical
matters associated with the sector. Senior Project Manager activities include supporting Operations with client
management responsibilities including sales, scheduling, technical training/support, proposal, test plan, and report
review, customer service, and field project management.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
o This position reports directly to the Regional Manager or Senior Operations Manager and performs the duties
they are assigned.
o Continues to be involved in customer communication for projects where they are the SME.
o Field work and prep work primarily for SME projects but used as needed to support on others as well.
o Provides support for the Operations Managers and Project Managers for project management.
o Completes all required ATLAS entries for each project that the Senior Project Manager is responsible for at least
two weeks prior to scheduled work.
o Follows up on all postponed projects for rescheduling.
o Ensures a Purchase Order (PO) is obtained prior to a test plan being submitted and confirming a test date(s).
Must get authorization from CFO, COO, or CEO to proceed with test plan without PO in hand. PO must be
obtained prior to mobilization. Ensure invoicing information is complete and accurate in ATLAS each Friday by
close of business for all projects managed during the previous week.
o Communicates with clients regarding any delay charges in advance of the client receiving the invoice.
o Ensures all specialty equipment required for each managed project is proactively ordered and coordinated for
the project.
o As applicable, ensures sampling media is proactively ordered for each project.
o Ensure samples are correctly labeled and packaged and delivered on time to the laboratory for analysis.
o A Senior Project Manager may be required to be a Project Manager on field projects based on available and
adequate project staffing and/or on the quantity of clients managed.
o Utilizes Salesforce to add to the client information and contact base via relationships developed as a Project
Manager with a focus on increasing future opportunities with their clientbase.
o Conducts preliminary site visits as needed.
o Participates in pre-test meetings at client sites.
o Performs field safety and quality inspections.
o Is expected to exhibit appropriate leadership to ensure the success of all projects.
o Expected to have a positive and professional attitude at all times.
o Follows current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of equipment, maintenance
programs, and other policies as required.
o Train Project Scientists as well as Project Managers on field procedures, test methods, calibrations, etc. using
standardized training materials and guidance provided by Operations Excellence.
o Determine plant entry procedures which includes site specific safety, drug screening, and/or background check
requirements and communicate details through ATLAS via the OSST button to the Safety Department.
o Assist with safety prequalification set up for new clients.
o Safety and DOT Compliance
* Successfully adheres to Health and Safety Program Manual.
* Follow all DOT requirements if required to drive a commercial motor vehicle.
* Proper use of Electronic Logging Device (ELD) if required to drive a commercial motor vehicle.
* Demonstrates ability to work safely in the office and field.
o Lab and Warehouse
* Consistently demonstrates good supervisory ability to keep personnel productive.
* Completes assigned tasks then picks up work area upon completion. Supervises Project Scientists to do
the same.
* Supervises and reviews equipment calibrations for pitots, control modules and nozzles.
* Ensures that all pitots and control modules on the mobile lab on site have a current calibration.
* Responsible and held accountable that all equipment required for the project is on the mobile testing
unit when it arrives on site. Ensures standard load-out is maintained on assigned mobile laboratory.
* Routinely checks out CEMS and data acquisition system before departure to job site to ensure all in
working order.
* Collaborates with Operations Excellence to provide standardized training of field personnel for test
methods and procedures.
* Ensures clean sampling equipment and mobile laboratories prior to arrival on client job sites.
* Equipment maintenance as trained to do so. Addresses yellow-tagged equipment needing repair.
* Delegation of tasks to Project Scientists. Follow up is expected on all delegated tasks to ensure proper
completion.
o Field Responsibilities (when required)
* Preparation of the test team for the scope of work prior to mobilization. This includes:
- Contact the Operations Manager or other Senior Project Manager for a pre-job briefing.
- Review of field templates prior to mobilization and confirm completeness for project.
- Review chain(s) of custody and sample labels.
- Ensure that all equipment required for the project is on the mobile lab (ML) when it arrives on
site. This includes ensuring that standard and project specific gear is packed and that the truck
and ML arrive in a clean and orderly condition.
- Contact client prior to mobilization to confirm testing event and schedule. Informs client of
expected arrival time at plant.
* Serves as the company's in-field representative to interface with clients and regulatorypersonnel.
* Field Supervision of Test Team
* Ensure quality data collection. Review and upload data to the secure AST server each testday.
* Completion of the Daily Activities Summary (DAS) daily. Ensure that field team time is entered into
Paycom daily.
* Supervise sample collection, chain of custody, and sample shipment.
* Update ATLAS with project information, including data submittal dates.
o Good verbal communication skills (Internally and with Clients and Regulators).
o Professional Appearance and Behavior at all times.
o Maintain Positive Attitude with ability to work well in groups.
o Desire to Achieve Goals and grow into higher positions of leadership.
o Must be able to travel (up to 30%) and maintain a valid driver's license.
o Flexibility: Must be available to work 40 plus hours as well as some nights and weekends

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES SHIFTING TO OPERATIONS
o Project scheduling, plant entry, logistics, equipment assignment.
o Confirming plant specific safety training for personnel.
o Ordering of project supplies.
o Communications with Analytical Services on lab media.
o Communication with Safety Department on safety supplies and drug screen requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o High School Diploma required. AS or BS degree preferred (Science and Engineering related fields ideal).
o Minimum 200 supervised projects.
o Has demonstrated expertise with key clients or industry groups.
o At a minimum, have Qualified Individual (QI) Groups 1 and 3 credentials plus one more QI.
o Customer Focused - demonstrated ability to communicate with customers, understand their needs, meet their
objectives, and resolve any issues or problems (conflict management skills).
o Has completed formal training and attestation as prerequisites to earn a promotion to SENIOR PROJECT
MANAGER.
o Computer skills. Intermediate skill level of Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook.

PHYSICAL REQIREMENTS:
o Must be able to meet physical demands such as:
* Typically standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping.
* Frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Climbing ladders and/or stairs.
* Use of tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
* Need to distinguish between shades of color.
* Ability and Willingness to work at elevated heights on stack platforms up to 300feet.
o Must be willing to work outdoors in industrial environments.
