Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.

Production Calibration Tech, Sr.

Position Summary:

The Production Calibration Technician provides calibration and maintenance of all precision measurement and test equipment. Performs a variety of electrical and mechanical calibrations, using established quality and reliability standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex tests to verify accuracies of calibrated equipment
  • Calibrates and troubleshoots test equipment, consoles and systems to locate failure mode
  • Repairs test equipment, as required in the process of calibration and ensures accuracy ratios of referenced standards used on test equipment
  • Assists in preparing calibration procedures on in-house built test equipment
  • Supports other Technicians with writing calibration procedures
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge and experience in testing equipment such as scopes, oscillators, digital multimeters , frequency counters, power sources, distortion analyzers
  • Able to troubleshoot test equipment circuits and systems, analog and digital
  • Excellent analytical skills and judgment to proactively identify and solve problems
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, manuals and test procedures
  • Capable of recognizing and solving typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluates and selects solutions from established options
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools

Education & Experience:

Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field

Years Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Pay Range: $29.8/hr to $49.65/hr
