Description
- Organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities.
- The Speech-Language Pathologist directs the patient's participation in selected activities/treatments to promote and/or maintain good health and communication.
- Organizes and conducts the Speech-Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities.
- Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities.
- Performs evaluation(s), develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient's rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.
- Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
- Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to, documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.

- Meets minimum requirements as required by current hospital and department PRN policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
- Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- This postiion is PRN.
- Will provide coverage for PTO, LOA and staffing shortages.
- The location is the Elyria Medical Center.
- We are looking for flexibility.
