Responsibilities

Operations and Staff Management

* Coordinating day to day clinic operations and support for clinical team members and all team members when Clinic Administrator/Sr. Clinic Administrator is unavailable.

* Oversees daily staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.

* Responsible for hiring, evaluation, and training of assigned clinical team members.

* Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing and clinical staff performance, providing coaching and professional development opportunities.

* Provide clinical leadership within the clinic setting to ensure effective, efficient operations, optimizing performance and continually improving the quality of care in a vastly changing healthcare environment.

* First line decision maker with respect to employee relations situations; informing and partnering with Clinic Administrator/Sr. Clinic Administrator in all employee situations.

* Provide information to support budgeting process as requested.

* Manage controllable expenses.

* Identify and resolve day-to-day issues related to position of oversight.

Patient Care/Patient Education

* Provide direct patient care as needed, ensuring adherence to best practice and standards of nursing.

* Establish effective mechanisms of communication with staff, physicians, advanced practice practitioners, and patients. Act as a liaison between providers, patients, and leadership to achieve effective communication and optimal operational and clinical processes.

* Possess in-depth knowledge of clinical workflows and education related to specialty- including protocols, processes, policies, and procedures.

* Addresses patient and family concerns promptly, ensuring resolution and satisfaction.

* Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.

* Serves as a resource for clinical staff in managing complex patient situations, ensuring safe and effective transitions.

Clinical Excellence

* Leads clinical team members in consistent application of evidence-based practices, driving excellence in patient outcomes, safety, and quality of care.

* Champions continuous quality improvement by leveraging clinical expertise to identify opportunities for enhancement and implementation of workflows.

* Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to clinical staff, fostering a culture of learning, accountability, and professional development.

* Utilizes clinical knowledge to monitor clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction to ensure highest level of care delivery.

* Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care.

* Lead and participate in safety drills.

* Create a culture of innovation, learning, teamwork, and professional practice, consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

* Support UnityPoint Clinic initiatives

* Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines, HIPAA.

* Serves as a role model for ethical practice, accountability, and professional integrity across all clinical roles.


Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Associate's Degree Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) OR Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Active RN License (required)
