Job Description




As a Security Officer - Vehicle Patrol Driver in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a busy government transportation and maritime location, you will perform routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control while delivering outstanding customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, and you may operate a vehicle to cover assigned areas and respond to calls. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government maritime and transportation facility.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of docks, terminals, parking areas, access roads, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or irregular conditions.
  • Control access at gates and checkpoints by verifying identification and credentials, screening visitors and vendors, directing traffic flow, and documenting entries and exits per site requirements.
  • Monitor cameras, alarm panels, and radio traffic, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting additional resources when needed.
  • Complete shift logs and incident reports, communicate observations to site leadership and local responders as appropriate, and support security-related investigations by preserving observations and documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A TSA-issued TWIC card is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required per client requirements.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
