Job Description Summary

As a member of the US Data Privacy, Digital & AI (DPDAI) team, the Associate Director provides advice and guidance on DPDAI topics to US Novartis stakeholders. The role also supports the development of related training, policies, and guidelines, as well as the tracking and operationalization of compliance with DPDAI-related laws. In addition, the Associate Director identifies, assesses, and supports the effective management of DPDAI risks to enable innovation while preserving the integrity and reputation of Novartis.

Job Description

Key Responsibilties

  • Provide advice and guidance on DPDAI topics to US Novartis stakeholders and functions including marketing and advertising technology, omnichannel engagement, clinical R&D, US federal and state privacy and AI laws.

  • Support incorporating DPDAI requirements within business processes to support Privacy and AI by Design, particularly for management, oversight, and governance of digital assets and consent management solutions.

  • Collaborate with the US DPDAI team to create, implement, and manage US guidance, policies, procedures, and training aligned with the global Novartis DPDAI program and US business and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with business, global DPDAI, and ERC stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage DPDAI risks, including compliance with US privacy and AI laws.

  • Manage implementation of DPDAI risk management controls and reporting to DPDAI Monitoring & Reporting functions.

  • Conduct privacy and AI risk assessments.

  • Monitor evolving US privacy and AI regulatory environments and enforcement trends.

  • Support the Head of DPDAI Region Americas and US in designing and executing the US DPDAI strategy.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 5+ years of experience in privacy roles with significant exposure to US privacy and AI regulatory environments

  • Exposure to healthcare/life sciences or other highly regulated industry

  • Proactive, self-starter with strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders

  • Ability to implement policy or program updates with business and cross-functional partners

  • Ability to manage complex issues in a large, heavily matrixed organization

  • Experience conducting privacy and/or AI risk assessments, compliance, or governance activities

  • Familiarity with privacy technology tools

Benefits & Rewards

The salary for this position is expected to range between $152,600 and $283,400 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
