The Finance Director, Sales and Marketing is a key strategic partner to the Chief Revenue Officer, providing critical financial leadership and insight to drive business growth. In this role, you will oversee financial planning and analysis for the sales and marketing functions, with a particular focus on sales performance, incentive compensation, and marketing ROI.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that align with the company's revenue goals, while ensuring fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency. Your expertise will be crucial in translating complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making and optimizing resource allocation.

What you will do:

  • Partner closely with the Chief Revenue Officer to provide financial guidance and support for strategic initiatives

  • Lead financial planning and analysis for sales and marketing functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking

  • Work in partnership to manage the incentive compensation program, ensuring alignment with company goals and sales strategies

  • Analyze marketing spend and ROI, providing recommendations for optimizing marketing investments

  • Create and present financial reports and dashboards for senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators and trends

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop financial models for new product launches, market expansions, and other growth initiatives

  • Oversee the annual budgeting process for sales and marketing departments

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies

  • Mentor and develop a team of finance professionals supporting sales and marketing functions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field of study; or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in sales and marketing finance

  • Strong understanding of sales operations, incentive compensation structures, and marketing finance

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

  • Proven track record of partnering with senior leadership and influencing business decisions

  • Experience with financial planning and analysis tools, CRM systems, and data visualization platforms

  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Workday, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar systems, preferred.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities

  • Experience working in a subscription-based business, preferred.
