Position Summary Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant is seeking motivated and technically driven Engineering Interns to support ongoing safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This internship provides hands-on experience working alongside professional engineers in a highly regulated environment, contributing to real-world engineering challenges, plant projects, and performance improvement initiatives. Interns will gain exposure to nuclear plant systems, engineering programs, field work, data analysis, and project implementation-making this an exceptional opportunity for students pursuing careers in power generation, nuclear energy, or general engineering disciplines. Seeking two Mechanical Engineering Candidates Seeking two Electrical or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Candidates Seeking one Rx Engineering Candidate PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37 Responsibilities Supporting senior staff with: Assist engineering staff with analysis, troubleshooting, and technical evaluations of plant systems and components. Support corrective action processes, equipment health monitoring, and system performance trending. Conduct field walkdowns to verify design conditions, gather data, or support engineering work packages. Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations (as applicable), diagrams, or presentations based on assignments. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, operations, maintenance, and project management groups. Participate in ongoing improvement projects such as reliability enhancements, equipment upgrades, or regulatory program support. Uphold strict nuclear safety, industrial safety, and procedural compliance standards. Travel may be required; frequency depends on the assignment and is typically less than 10%. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering at an accredited University Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship Desired:. EIT or FE certification 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong communication skills, both oral and written Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction PG&E is unable to provide VISA sponsorship to students on an F-1, J-1 or other student visa for this position.
