Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an exciting potential opportunity for an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT/MLS) to support the Dayton VA Medical Center.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly respected federal healthcare system, delivering high-quality laboratory services that directly impact Veteran patient care.

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field

• Graduate of a NAACLS or ABHES accredited program, or program acceptable to AMT

• Current certification meeting one of the following:

  Generalist Certification:

  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - ASCP BOC or AMT

  • Medical Technologist (MT) - ASCP BOR or AMT

  OR

  • Categorical or Specialist certification by ASCP or AMT

• Minimum 24 months of clinical laboratory experience

• Perform automated and non-automated laboratory testing in:

  • Chemistry

  • Hematology

  • Urinalysis

  • Serology

  • Bacteriology

  • Immunohematology

  • Blood Banking

  • Microbiology

  • Molecular and specialty areas as applicable

• Evaluate specimen suitability and maintain physiologic integrity

• Prepare reagents and reference materials

• Calibrate, standardize, and maintain laboratory instruments

• Perform and document quality control and quality assurance procedures

• Troubleshoot instrumentation and implement corrective actions

• Analyze, verify, and report laboratory results accurately

• Maintain compliance with all VA laboratory policies and safety standards

• Serve our nation's Veterans in a mission-driven federal setting

• Work in a structured, high-acuity hospital laboratory

• Perform complex and specialized laboratory testing

• Gain valuable VA clinical experience
