The Program Director in the Department of Medical Education within the College of Medicine will oversee the day-to-day operations of both educational activities and grant management/coordination. Responsible for educational activities related to the assigned programs, including policy development, strategic planning, budget oversight, and program implementation. Oversees all aspects of one or more grants, ensuring that all activities meet funder requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manages and implements the day-to-day operations of the Certificate and medical student scholarly concentration programs in collaboration with Faculty Leadership.
  • Coordinates the development of policies and procedures, strategic goals, and budgets for Certificate and medical student scholarly concentration programs; Responsible for all areas of administration and engages with learners in the Certification and medical student scholarly concentration programs.
  • Serves as primary advisor to the Department Head and Faculty Leadership regarding Certificate and medical student scholarly concentration educational program development, management, and operations. Will have supervision and policy-making responsibility; Develops program strategies and educational programming.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for one or more grants, ensuring all activities meet funder requirements.
  • Oversees the collection and organization of data for the grant.
  • Monitor progress, expenditures, and deliverables of the grant with oversight from the Primary Investigator.
  • Assist with writing of grant reports, including coordination of multiple authors and investigators
  • Manage day-to-day office operations. Interview, hire, orient, lead, mentor and evaluate staff to meet departmental and organizational needs.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications Required:

  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. Demonstrated experience in administering a Graduate Health Professions Education program.
  3. Demonstrated experience with Grant Management


(Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Seven years of experience in medical or healthcare education leadership and scholarship.
  • Demonstrated experience in Curriculum and Instruction and/or Creation of Educational programs.
