We are looking for a Product Quality Engineer to support the Smarten Controllers for the Artificial Lift Automation Business Unit located in Houston, TX. This is your opportunity to join a global technology company, driving energy innovation for a balanced planet.

What You Will Do:

  • Implement and maintain effective Quality management systems (QMS) ensuring that quality standards are defined and followed by internal personnel and external suppliers / vendors.

  • Develop, apply and maintain quality systems compliant to ISO-9001:2015 and UL508A.

  • Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, ensuring execution to plan, early identification of risks, timely corrective actions, and engagement of appropriate stakeholders.

  • Provide quality engineering expertise throughout the product lifecycle, including product development, validation, commercialization, third-party manufacturing, sustaining engineering and customer support.

  • Acts as a liaison between product development, production and services to establish quality standards and resolve quality issues.

  • Audits and qualify external vendors to ensure compliance with quality and internal business requirements.

  • Define, track, analyze, and report key quality metrics (KPIs); drive corrective and preventive actions based on data trends

  • Work with development team to define acceptance criteria, validation protocols, and test cases.

  • Own process for regression/bench testing to ensure product is ready for full field testing of hardware and firmware. Work with Product team and technical support/Field service team to ensure product is ready for deployment.

  • Execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports.

  • Maintain and continuously improve Standard Work instructions, SOPs, and related quality documentation.

  • Lead root cause investigations and resolution of critical product quality issues, including field failures and non-conformances.

  • Partner with Product Development and Engineering to advocate and support product improvements on released products, successfully transfer new commercially released products into the group and share lessons learned to prevent future product issues.

  • Promote and foster a culture of continuous improvement culture within the Quality function.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical discipline.

  • 5 years of relevant experience in automation and control systems engineering within a manufacturing, operations, product development, sustaining engineering, or project engineering environment.

  • 3 years of relevant work experience required with artificial lift controls equipment (Controllers, RTUs, PLCs). VFD experience is required including commissioning, troubleshooting, and application support.

  • Good understanding of quality methodologies, tools, and process; preferred experience writing comprehensive test plans and cases.

  • Excellent project management skills: ability to drive projects to a successful completion.

  • Strong computer skills, including advanced excel skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Quality Professional Certification

  • Experience leading and maintaining an ISO-9001: 2015 certification

  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification

  • Application experience with artificial lift controllers, including rod pump, and progressing cavity pump, and plunger/gas lift applications

  • Knowledge of:

    • Programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)

    • Ladder or text-based Logic programming and diagrams

    • Serial & TCP communications networks. Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).

    • Analog and digital circuitry

  • Sitting: May sit for extended periods of time.

  • Moving around the office: Moving between desk and file cabinets and/or office equipment.

  • Repetitive motion: Substantial movement (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers to use a computer.

  • The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer monitor.

  • The employee is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
