The People Analytics Consultant (Reporting & Insights) position is a hands-on analytics role focused on delivering scalable reporting, insights, and decision support to Business HR and leaders. This role blends advanced Workday reporting, analytics consulting, and data storytelling to translate workforce data into clear, actionable insights. This position is designed for an analytics professional who enjoys both building solutions (reports, dashboards, governance) and partnering with stakeholders to ensure insights are used effectively. You will serve as a primary point of contact for analytics and reporting needs from Business HR, ensuring requests are scoped appropriately, prioritized based on value, and delivered through scalable, repeatable solutions. This position is expected to be onsite 8 days a month at the IDEXX Global Campus in Westbrook, ME. What You'll Do: Analytics Consulting & Stakeholder Partnership (30-35% of the role)
- Translate Business HR questions into clear analytical and reporting requirements.
- Lead analytics engagements from intake through delivery, including scoping, prioritization, analysis, and communication of results.
- Act as a trusted analytics advisor-guiding stakeholders toward the right data, reports, or dashboards rather than one-off solutions.
- Partner with the Head of People Analytics to shape and execute the Business HR analytics engagement model, including proactive insights and recurring touchpoints.
Workday Reporting (20-30%)
- Build, maintain, and enhance Workday reports, including advanced and matrix reports.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Workday reporting, advising on data structures, report design, and downstream use.
- Lead Workday reporting governance, including standards, documentation, and alignment with People Operations.
- Respond to and triage reporting requests, determining when needs should be met via ad-hoc reports, dashboards, or standardized solutions.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and end-user experience.
Ad-Hoc Analysis & Insights (15-25%)
- Execute targeted analyses in response to unplanned questions, synthesizing findings into clear recommendations.
- Balance speed and rigor when responding to urgent requests while protecting long-term scalability.
Dashboards & Data Visualization (10-20%)
- Design and maintain dashboards (primarily in Tableau) that support storytelling and decision-making.
- Apply strong data visualization and UX principles to ensure insights are clear, intuitive, and actionable.
- Proactively evaluate the dashboard suite to reduce redundancy and improve scalability.
Surveys & Listening (10-15%)
- Support engagement and pulse survey work, including analysis, interpretation, and stakeholder guidance.
- Advise on survey strategy and opportunities to improve listening approaches over time.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Psychology, I/O Psychology, Business, or a related field
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in people analytics, HR reporting, or workforce analytics.
- Ability to clearly communicate analytical insights to non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on experience creating and maintaining Workday reports or similar HRIS platform, including advanced and matrix reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in people analytics consultant role or other consulting role.
- Familiarity with employee listening platforms (e.g., Perceptyx, Qualtrics, Culture Amp, Glint).
- Experience in data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, or equivalent).
- Comfort presenting to senior leaders and facilitating insight-to-action discussions.
- Working knowledge of statistical and machine learning concepts sufficient to interpret analyses, ask the right questions, and guide business applications without requiring hands-on model development.
