This is a full time Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to candidates with greater than 1 year of RN work experience.

For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign-on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience!
o Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
o Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

The Registered Nurse role provides comprehensive telephone-based nursing care to patients throughout their surgical journey, offering Surgical Navigation. This role supports bothpreoperative preparation and postoperative recovery, ensuring patients receive clear information, timely follow-up, and ongoing support aligned with best practices and provider expectations.

Preoperatively, the RN contacts patients to review medications, reinforce instructions, discuss pain management planning, and verify that a safe discharge plan is in place. Postoperatively, the RN conducts structured follow-up calls to assess recovery progress, address common concerns such as wound care and pain management, and promptly escalate issues that require provider involvement. The Surgical Navigation RN also contributes to office operations by supporting general clinical workflows and promoting a positive patient experience.

This position requires strong assessment skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver calm, clear guidance to patients navigating surgical care. The RN works in close partnership with surgeons, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to promote continuity, safety, and an excellent patient experience.

Summary:

MaineHealth OrthopedicsBrunswickis seeking a full time Registered Nurse. The RN uses professional nursing processes to assess the needs of patients and families calling or presenting for care in the physician office and performs a wide variety of patient care services to assist physicians/advanced practice practitioners in delivering excellent care to patients of the practice.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: One year of RN experience required. Two years of relevant experience preferred. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse I - Ambulatory Care role.
