This opportunity is in the Information Technology department.

Role Description:

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience building and enhancing internal business applications alongside experienced software engineers in an agile, collaborative environment. You will contribute to the development, testing, and support of solutions developed using C#/.NET, React, and related technologies, helping to improve internal systems that power Safety National's operations.

In this role during the summer of 2026, you will apply your knowledge of object-oriented programming and web development concepts to real-world business challenges. You'll participate in agile ceremonies, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and assist in delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. From writing and reviewing code to troubleshooting issues and learning best practices in version control and the software development lifecycle, you will see how enterprise applications are built, maintained, and delivered from concept through production. This internship offers a meaningful opportunity to turn ideas into working technology solutions while developing the technical and professional skills that will shape your career.

Qualifications:

Education:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (required). Must have completed 90 or more credit hours toward a bachelor's degree by the end of May 2027 (required).

Required Qualifications:



  • Experience creating software solutions or products through academic projects, internships, hackathons, or personal projects
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
  • Hands-on programming experience with C#/.NET and/or React
  • Basic understanding of web application development concepts
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
  • Curiosity, creativity, and a desire to learn how to turn ideas into working technology solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • 90 or more credit hours complete with an expected graduation date no later than May of 2027
  • Ability to work on-site at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO 63146, full-time schedule (37.5 hours) in summer of 2026
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future


    Preferred Qualifications:



    • Understanding of RESTful APIs and basic database concepts
    • Experience building websites or web-based applications using modern frameworks, libraries, or tools
    • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and collaborative development practices
