Position Summary: Join our Baton Rouge team as a Sales Support Specialist, supporting outside sales with proposals, technical reporting, and project scope development. This role offers hands-on exposure to full-cycle sales and is a stepping stone to outside sales for ambitious candidates with strong technical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate customers' RFQ and order entry process in conjunction with outside sales.
- Coordinate with sales to manage Salesforce and ensure accurate tracking of projects as they develop.
- Assist outside sales in developing comprehensive proposals to secure turn-key projects.
- Assist outside sales with developing technical report of findings (ROF) after customer system audits.
- Attend joint sales calls and provide assistance in defining and assessing the scope of work.
- Help develop a winning strategy for estimates.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather the required information to support the defined strategy.
- Participate and perform a key role in kick-off meetings with the project execution team to ensure a seamless transition of the proposed scope of work.
- Connect with clients as needed to gather outstanding information on projects during the pre-bid, RFQ, and execution process.
- Conduct "field walks" with end users to gather scope defining information, including pipe drafting and field measurements.
- Coordinate lunch and learn technical presentations with Engineering Firms, E&C's, and End Users.
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, and construction during projects on behalf of the Sales team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM or related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- 3-5 years' experience in industrial/commercial sales preferred.
- Exposure to RFQ process, estimating, and proposal takeoffs a plus.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tool preferred.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings such as P&IDs, isometrics, and equipment layouts.
- Technical proficiency and a passion for solving technical problems required. Technical writing experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work independently and in a team environment, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in our Baton Rouge, LA office. Additionally, ability and willingness to travel to job sites (local) for field walks in collaboration with sales team. Ability to meet physical demands of industrial job site visits on a regular basis.
