Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (API Testing Specialist) with our client in the financial industry located in Newark, DE. This is a 12+ month contract position. Responsibilities: Be the "quality gatekeeper" for our microservices architecture Run scripts; architect robust automation suites that validate the data integrity, security, and performance of our REST and SOAP web services API Automation Strategy: Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automation frameworks for RESTful and SOAP-based APIs Advanced Tooling: Lead the implementation of Postman (using Newman for CLI integration) and SoapUI (leveraging Groovy scripting for complex logic) to ensure 100% coverage of service-level agreements (SLAs) Framework Development: Build and enhance modular automation libraries using Java (Rest-Assured) or Python (Requests) to streamline the testing lifecycle Contract and Integration Testing: Validate complex JSON/XML schemas and perform end-to-end integration testing to ensure seamless communication between distributed microservices CI/CD Orchestration: Integrate API test suites into the Jenkins/Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions pipeline to facilitate automated "Gatekeeping" and rapid feedback loops Backend Validation: Write advanced SQL/PL-SQL queries to perform "Database-to-API" mapping, ensuring that the data presented at the endpoint matches the source of truth Triage and RCA: Perform deep-tier root cause analysis on failed requests by analyzing server logs and network traffic (using tools like Fiddler or Charles Proxy) Requirements: Highly technical Automation Engineer with a specialized focus on API and Middleware testing API Tools: Expert proficiency in Postman (Collections, Environments, Monitors) and SoapUI/ReadyAPI Scripting/Languages: Hands-on experience with JavaScript (for Postman tests), Groovy (for SoapUI), and Java or Python Web Services: Deep understanding of HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE), Status Codes, Headers, and Authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys) Data Formats: Mastery of JSON and XML parsing and schema validation Environment Management: Experience managing test data and environment variables across LLE (Lower Level Environments) through to Production Pay Range: $49.86-$57.86 Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
