Work Schedule & Training Requirement


  • Standard Shift: Sunday (10:00 pm - 6:30 am) and Monday - Thursday (7:00 pm - 3:30 am).



  • Mandatory Training: The selected candidate will train on First Shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday) for the first 30-90 days before transitioning to the permanent night shift.




General Description

Directly responsible for leading all day-to-day activities of the Supply Chain Associates (Levels 1 & 2) within the Operating Room and Sterile Processing service lines.


Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Support




  • Support day-to-day supply chain functions in assigned areas, including the OR, Sterile Processing, and STAT rooms.


  • Assemble case carts for surgical supplies

  • Plan and schedule work for stockroom and warehouse personnel to ensure adequate manning and space for surgical supply tasks




Clinical Support & Order Fulfillment




  • Fulfill surgical orders and manage inventory for Pyxis stations and PAR areas.



  • Work closely with Nursing and OR staff to perform par maintenance and adjustments.



  • Lead the handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring Goods Receipts are verified and recorded.



  • Coordinate with Procurement to manage backorders and product conversions, keeping clinical customers informed of status changes.




Performance Improvement




  • Identify and implement department improvements related to safety, FIFO rotations, and shelf spacing optimization.



  • Track daily output and performance metrics, reporting product outages or increased utilization to leadership.



  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for surgical supply chain functions to provide a single point of contact for clinical customers.




Required Qualifications

Education




  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.



  • Postsecondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.




Experience




  • At least 1 yearof experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics, or material handling required..



  • Note: Relevant postsecondary education can offset the experience requirement (1 year of education = 1 year of experience).




Preferred Requirements & Exposure




  • OR Exposure: Previous experience navigating a hospital setting and working within an Operating Room environment.



  • Sterile Processing: Prior experience in Sterile Processing (SPD) workflows and instrumentation.



  • Technical Skills: Experience assembling equipment and prior warehouse experience.




Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification




  • Valid Driver's License (may be required).




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Requirements




  • Heavy Lifting: Must be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.



  • Case Cart Management: The ability to push/pull heavy case carts (loaded and unloaded) requires up to 100 pounds of exertional force daily.



  • Frequent reaching, lifting, stooping, and bending are essential to daily duties.




Soft Skills & Leadership




  • Ability to navigate complex clinical environments and build relationships with surgical teams.



  • Possess a sense of urgency and a proactive, customer-based philosophy.



  • Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency in computerized inventory management environments.
