Systems Engineer (FMS)

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer position

to support the Attack Systems Division, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. WID is part of the ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI), who is responsible for equipping our warfighters to win the fight. The Directorate executes a $22 billion acquisition portfolio developing, producing, testing, modifying, fielding, and supporting Air Force ISR and SOF platforms, and related sub-systems.

This is a full-time position located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB).

* Possess the advanced knowledge, experience, and recognized ability to be considered highly skilled in FMS Engineering Management Support. Must work independently and be able to apply procedures.
* Translate FMS user requirements into system requirements which will be used by the weapon system contractor to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment.
* Assist in performing technical/mission analyses of operational requirements, assist in developing system concepts, and perform technological/trade-off study assessments of proposed designs.
* Assist with processes for drafting project documentation including, SOOs and SOWs, program plans, schedules, and presentations.
* Assist in drafting regulatory and statutory documentation to include, but not be limited to, the SEP and life cycle management plan.
* Assist in reviewing Contractor documents and data and providing comments.
* Assist test teams in the development of test requirements, and review test plans.
* Assist in reviewing and analyzing technical proposals or modifications for cost, design feasibility and system compatibility.
* Assist in supporting and conducting engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical/schedule risk assessment, and scheduling trade-off studies.
* Assist in supporting the evaluation of IMP, IMS, and SEDS engineering cost estimates.
* Assist in the evaluation of systems test plans (such as systems test plans/test and evaluation master plans) and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem, and component testing.
* Provide systems/subsystems integration support for the acquisition, development, and verification of systems and equipment.
* Apply common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future joint service weapon systems.
* Apply knowledge of Airworthiness Certification Criteria, to aircraft systems and subsystems.
* Support the acquisition program management of full life cycle requirements, subsystems, and equipment.
* Support performance of disciplined engineering activities to assure Occupational Safety, Suitability and Effectiveness (OSS&E) for all products.

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must posses and maintain a Secret clearance

Education and Years of Experience:

Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and eight years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD.
• OR bachelor's degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD.
• OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD.
• OR bachelor's degree in a related field and twelve years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD.
• OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD.
