T-Tape Operator Job Description
Position Purpose
The T-Tape Operator is responsible for the safe and accurate manufacturing, processing, and packaging of T-Tape and related special products to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Operate and monitor equipment used in the manufacturing and processing of T-Tape and related specialty products.
- Accurately weigh, measure, blend, and process materials in accordance with established formulas, work instructions, and customer specifications.
- Maintain detailed production records, batch logs, quality documentation, and traceability records.
- Perform cleaning and changeovers of equipment to prevent cross-contamination between products.
- Package and label finished goods in compliance with company and customer requirements.
- Conduct visual and basic quality checks to ensure product meets specifications.
- Safely handle raw materials including powders, alloys, and specialty blends.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and plant safety procedures.
- Interpret and apply manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
- Communicate production or quality concerns promptly to supervision.
Non-Essential Functions
- Attend required safety and production meetings.
- Cross-train in other Special Products operations as assigned.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Experience with batching, blending, or specialty materials is a plus.
- Basic math skills required for calculating weights, percentages, and measurements.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to complete required documentation legibly and accurately.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest.
- Must be able to maneuver (with assistance) 55-gallon drums weighing up to 1,000 lbs.
- Frequent exposure to industrial dusts and metal powders including nickel, chrome, cobalt, copper, silicon, and iron.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection.
- Must be able to adapt to frequent task changes during an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed based on production demands.
- Stress levels may vary depending on production schedules.

Scales, batching equipment, computers, calculators, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand tools, vacuums, and other assigned production equipment.
