Patient Service Representative (PSR)
Department: Surgical Care Portland - Cancer Care

Schedule: 24 hours per week (flexible days and hours), consistent schedule
Remote Flexibility: On-site only (no remote option)

Position Summary

MaineHealth is seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our Surgical Care Portland - Cancer Care team.

As the first point of contact for our patients, the PSR plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment and is committed to supporting patients with professionalism and empathy.

We are apatient-centered, team-focused groupwith a strong and supportive administrative team. Employee engagement is high, and we pride ourselves on fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner

  • Answer and manage incoming telephone calls

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments

  • Verify and update patient information

  • Perform general office and administrative duties as assigned

  • Support providers and clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
