$89,900-$95,400 per year Application Window Open date: March 4, 2026 Next review date: Friday, Apr 3, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Apr 3, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of European Languages & Studies at the University of California, Irvine, is looking for an Assistant Adjunct Professor in French and Francophone Literature for a one-year, possibly renewable position beginning Fall 2026. We are particularly interested in a candidate who can teach upper-division courses in 19th through 21st century literature in French, as well as beginning and intermediate levels of French language. Native or near-native fluency in French is required. A secondary specialty in pre-19th century French or Francophone literature, philosophy, or critical theory or experience teaching advanced French grammar and composition courses is also a plus. The position involves teaching 5 courses over 3 quarters (fall, winter, spring).
