Description: What you'll be doing

Another Source's client, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), is recruiting an Associate Director of Training to join their multidisciplinary mental health team on site in Rochester, New York. This is a highly visible and mission-critical leadership opportunity for a licensed psychologist who is passionate about clinical training, supervision, and advancing student mental health within a dynamic higher education environment.

At a time when student mental health needs are increasingly complex, the Associate Director of Training plays a central role in shaping the clinical preparation of future mental health professionals while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and culturally responsive care to RIT students.

Reporting to senior leadership within Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the Associate Director of Training leads the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical training programs for graduate trainees. The role provides leadership and supervision to a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, therapists, and support staff, while contributing to departmental operations, policy development, and continuous improvement efforts.

This role is ideal for a collaborative clinical leader who enjoys mentoring emerging professionals, strengthening systems, and balancing hands-on clinical engagement with programmatic oversight.

The successful candidate will be a licensed psychologist and experienced clinical supervisor who brings both strategic vision and operational strength to a university counseling setting. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of clinical training programs for graduate trainees.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and professional development to trainees and licensed staff.
  • Direct and support a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, fostering a culture of clinical excellence and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development and management of departmental policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality counseling and therapy services aligned with best practices and ethical standards.
  • Assist with administrative oversight, including program assessment, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders to advance student mental health strategy and improve overall student well-being.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and divisional goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-degree clinical experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience providing clinical supervision and leadership.
  • Licensure in New York State as a Psychologist, or eligibility for licensure within 6 months of beginning the position.

Salary:

  • Salary band: $110-$130,000
  • Relocation Package to be determined
  • Schedule Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of mental health service administration and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of leadership and management practices in a mental health care setting.
  • Skill in developing and managing clinical training programs for graduate-level mental health professionals.
  • Skill in policy development and operational oversight within a healthcare or university counseling environment.
  • Ability to ensure the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and culturally responsive mental health services.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to improve student mental health outcomes.
