Overview
World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world's leading conservation organizations, seeks a Senior Communications Specialist, Nature Finance and Investment. The Senior Communications Specialist (SCS) will play a pivotal role in planning and executing multi-channel communications strategies to advance the objectives of WWF's newest initiative, Nature Finance and Investment (NFI), which aims to channel private capital toward key conservation priorities. The SCS is responsible for developing print and digital content, collaborating closely with NFI staff and communicators across the organization, and ensuring alignment with WWF's guidelines and brand standards. The SCS will draw on their knowledge of finance, investment, conservation, and strategic communications to tailor complex financial concepts to the needs of each audience. Salary Range: $81,100 - $101,400 Position Length: Limited Term - 2 years Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid work structure with minimum of 2 days a week in office) Please note: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Responsibilities
Develops communications strategies and write communications plans that advance NFI's priorities and the organization's mission in close collaboration with senior leaders.
- Creates or co-creates communications content, including messaging, presentations, news releases, statements, and web stories, for internal and external audiences that adheres closely to organizational brand and editorial guidelines and communications policies.
- Builds out and manages NFI social media assets and supports NFI leadership's social media outreach.
- Oversees the NFI team fact database, editorial calendar, and internal newsletter.
- Coordinates with internal colleagues, including program communicators, the Media & External Affairs team, Web and Social teams, and others in the Communications & Marketing division to develop and implement communication plans and underlying assets to advance NFI and WWF's mission and goals.
- Works with external partners, including overseeing the work of communications vendors hired for projects.
- Independently or collaboratively fields requests for information from colleagues, external partners, or the public to further WWF's mission with NFI-specific capabilities.
- Provides communications counsel and manages/represents the NFI team at select internal and external events.
- Establishes expertise in NFI team programmatic areas to provide guidance on developing and reaching communications goals related to the programs.
- Tracks topics relevant to the NFI team's agenda and identifies and helps mitigate potential reputational issues.
- Reviews the performance outcomes and status of communications activities, evaluates and reports relevant results, and makes recommendations for future activities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. communications, journalism, conservation, economics/business, international development).
- Six years of experience in mission-oriented strategic communications (or three years of experience with an advanced degree).
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and project management abilities.
- Advanced expertise with Microsoft 365 software, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Professional experience managing social media assets across several social platforms.
- Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style and experience adhering to organizations' editorial and brand guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships in a complex environment.
