Job Summary

The Clinical Research Support Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting clinical research activities within the HDFCCC under the guidance of the Clinical Research Support Office Director.

Responsibilities encompass operational support, protocol review and monitoring, and quality control measures. It offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with diverse faculty and staff across the HDFCCC, including those in regulatory affairs, study operations, and scientific review. This role is vital for ensuring the seamless operation of clinical studies, assisting investigators, and upholding regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrates strong leadership abilities coupled with excellent communication skills. The candidate will apply professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues. Must be able to fully analyze issues and problems, gather data and information, find and evaluate alternatives and make sound recommendations. They should be adept at optimizing workflows to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance. This position requires the ability to cultivate robust relationships with various departments across UCSF to effectively support clinical research initiatives at the HDFCCC.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $154,600 (Annual Rate).

The UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC) is a national leader in oncology research. The HDFCCC clinical research program is a fast paced program with a broad portfolio of clinical trials. The mission of the program is to provide patients and their families with streamlined access to cutting-edge cancer therapies. In addition to providing compassionate, patient-centered care our team of clinicians and researchers is dedicated to improving outcomes for all patients. We combine basic science, clinical research, epidemiology, cancer control and patient care throughout the University of California, San Francisco.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience
• Exceptional analytical / problem-solving skills to evaluate the importance and urgency of problems.
• Strong skills in analyzing, researching, and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals/analyses.
• Ability to multitask with demanding timeframes.
• Strong policy analysis techniques. Ability to analyze complex and non-routine issues requiring innovative solutions.
• Knowledge of common organization or research-specific and other computer application programs. Understanding of clinical research methods and operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
• Ability to operate effectively in a changing organizational and technological environment.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Significant project and clinical trial management experience or progressively responsible experience in a related position, including regulatory and compliance responsibilities.
• Fluency in spreadsheet software; ability to develop complex spreadsheets independently; demonstrated skills in audit preparation, execution, and follow-up.
