Overview

Performs various clerical and statistical assignments related to the personnel function.



Responsibilities

Assists in maintaining the new hire application database.

Reviews applications to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements.

Screens and refers candidates for additional interviews with others in organization.

Coordinates internal job posting program.

Responsible for Data entry

Participates in job fairs (internal & external).

Provides information on company facilities and job opportunities to potential applicants.

Provides information on unemployment claims to the State.

Responsible for Service Award Program and various other departmental functions

File & maintains employment records of company personnel.

Furnish information regarding employees to authorized sources.

Initiate records folders and other paperwork for orientation of new employees.

Will serve as backup for orientations and receptionist.

Responsible for the Safety Shoe & Safety Glasses Program

Responsible for Training Record program

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma is required. Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must be computer literate; Word and Excel software.
