GENERAL FUNCTION: Coordinates and implements testing of all vessel propulsion systems, up to

and including sea trials, in compliance with contract requirements. Supervise and manage all field service activities.


TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and

level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities

Conducts and completes all testing for propulsion systems and sea trials prior to acceptance, by the customer. Responds

to all inquiries from customers and agents of regulatory bodies concerning vessel testing.


*
Confer, meet and provide technical advice and assistance with management, owners and yard personnel to discuss and

resolve issues related to vessel equipment and systems.


*
Support delivery of vessels if needed through ensuring the overall design meets customer, contract and regulatory

requirements


*
Plan and progress all design, installation, test and commissioning activities for specific programs, inclusive of

communication to team members.


*
Establish and manage design documentation, cable schedules and drawings control, as required.

*
Work with production leadership, environmental, health & safety staff to perform risk assessments and method

statements associated with testing and commissioning the vessel.


*
Plan, organize and direct activities concerned with the projects particularly with respect to the feasibility and problem

areas that may occur in the conversion process and ensure that all established policies and procedures are compiled

with as well as classification regulations.

Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as

work procedures, complaints and project issues.


DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong commissioning and/or system testing background required. Good

leadership and management skills. Good interpersonal skills. Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills. Must be self-

motivated and work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment. Considerable knowledge of

shipbuilding processes and industry standards and regulations. Good knowledge of testing equipment and measuring

devices and the ability to instruct inspectors on their proper operation. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and

specifications and develop sound, thorough inspection programs. Ability to effectively supervise and to interface

effectively with customers, management and employees in all areas within the division.


DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Strong knowledge in propulsions systems including Diesel main engines, diesel

generators, fuel oil, lube oil, CPP, & MRG's. 6 years minimal test and trials experience working propulsion and main engine

spaces. Personal who served on a active Navy vessel working engine rooms and machinery spaces is a plus.
