Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager - Manhattan, Langone Orthopedic Center (Spine).
The Project Manager of the Langone Orthopedic Center (LOC) will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Spine Center, ensuring high-quality care, operational efficiency, and compliance with all pertinent policies and regulations. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing interdisciplinary research projects within the Spine Center (Ortho Spine, Neurosurgery Spine, PMR) and the research assistants working on said projects. The Project Manager will also be responsible for overseeing the Spine Center Project Coordinator from a supervisory perspective. Additionally, as directed by the Executive Director of LOC, the Project Manager will oversee implementation of programs to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and patient experience outcomes of the Spine Center.
Job Responsibilities:
- Gathers, enters, and/or updates data on a weekly cadence with appropriate action plans to hit institutional targets
- Maintains reports and databases, as appropriate
- Perform ad hoc data analysis to support project planning as needed
- Facilitate project team meetings by providing administrative support as needed, including setting meeting objectives/agendas, noting key decisions, and following up on action items
- Use standardized project management tools to track key milestones, owners, and target completion dates
- Act as primary point of contact for interdisciplinary research projects under the Spine Center scope and manage day-to-day communication and activities of the research team
- Oversee the work of research assistants and Spine Center Project Coordinator
- Onboard and supervise research assistants
- Assemble and maintain project plans and documentation of project and/or program progress
- Build and promote constructive working relationships with all stakeholders, using good judgement to provide objective recommendations
- Prepare and deliver presentations, analyses, and recommendations for process improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multitask while paying attention to details.
Preferred Qualifications:
4 years in healthcare project management, clinical ops, research ops, or program management. At least 12 years of informal or formal people leadership. Master's degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multitask while paying attention to details.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $84,577.93 - $89,024.52 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
