The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and profitability of the hotel, overseeing operations across sales, front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, banquets, and maintenance while maintaining high brand standards and a strong service culture. Key Responsibilities Hotel Leadership & Operations Provide overall leadership of the hotel including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, maintenance, and sales teams. Maintain high guest satisfaction and brand standards while fostering a culture focused on service excellence and accountability. Conduct regular property inspections to ensure operational and brand compliance. Food & Beverage & Banquet Operations Oversee Legends Bar & Grill and banquet/event operations. Ensure high-quality food and beverage service while managing cost controls, labor efficiency, and inventory management. Develop strategies to grow local dining and banquet business within the Mankato community. Revenue Growth & Sales Strategy Partner with the Sales team to implement aggressive sales and marketing strategies that drive occupancy, ADR, and event revenue. Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders to generate group business and events. Work closely with the Revenue Management team on pricing strategy and forecasting. Financial Management Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets. Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to maximize profitability. Maintain strong internal financial controls and operational discipline. Team Leadership Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing hospitality professionals. Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and leadership development. Foster a positive and engaged workplace culture. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety procedures, and health regulations. Work with Human Resources on employee relations, compliance, and workforce management. Qualifications 3-5+ years of Hotel General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience Full-service hotel experience strongly preferred Experience overseeing food & beverage and banquet operations Strong knowledge of hotel financials, budgeting, and P&L management Proven ability to drive revenue growth and operational performance Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills Degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time salaried leadership position offering a competitive total compensation package including: Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 DOE Bonus eligibility Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Health Savings Account & Flexible Spending Accounts Company-paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance Voluntary Life Insurance 401(k) with company match Paid Holidays and PTO Employee hotel discounts Sand Hospitality is seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead the Country Inn & Suites in Mankato, Minnesota, a full-service hotel that includes Legends Bar & Grill and banquet/event operations.
