What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planning Control Specialist to manage large amounts of equipment data in support of annual recapitalization goals. This person will support the administrative efforts required to manage critical equipment enabling multiple missions. This data analysis and data maintenance will support annual reporting needs for a variety of stakeholders and will be used to communicate plans, needs, and challenges as appropriate to all levels of management.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Work with the equipment lifecycle team, production teams, and development staff to maintain up-to-date metrics and data to support risk assessments and investment plans
  • Team with production operators, technical staff, project leads, and management to assess demand and make recommendations for equipment data and capacity needs
  • Conduct risk assessments using established algorithms, continuously monitor changes to the factory and update inputs according to current and planned system needs
  • Generate fiscal plans, presentations, and reports customized to various stakeholders to illustrate equipment and asset data, strategies, and execution plans
  • Work across multiple missions areas to parse and curate information, collaborate on business operations improvement and process optimization. Support standardization across business groups
  • Assist in developing and executing annual reporting
  • Participate in inventory and conditions assessments

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range

$87,400 - $168,800

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 5 years of experience; or equivalent (AS + 9 years or no degree + 13 years)
  • Experience with laboratory and/or manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with Oracle E-business Suite, SharePoint and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

About Our Team

The Asset and Operations Management Department, 7573, has responsibilities for three major areas. First, the department is responsible for managing and supporting equipment and facilities for three distinct mission areas: Neutron Generators, Power Sources, and Explosives Technologies. In this area, the department has an Equipment Lifecycle Management team that tracks, procures, characterizes, and retires equipment; and monitors and manages mission-specific facilities projects. Secondly, the Infrastructure Group manages installations of equipment, coordination with Corporate Facilities departments, and coordinates all Process Infrastructure Equipment. Finally, the Calibrations and Maintenance Team supports all production, development, and analytical equipment.

Posting Duration

Position Information

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
