Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing comprehensive accounting support to a newly established division of independently operated sales agencies within a multi-location commercial play and recreation organization. This role supports accurate day to day financial activity at the agency level, performs and reviews monthly reconciliations and intercompany reclassification entries, and partners closely with new acquisition targets to integrate their financial processes into PlayCore's reporting structure.

The position requires strong accounting technical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capability to support multiple business units simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide daily accounting support to multiple sales agencies, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with corporate policies.
2. Review and/or post agency-level AP/AR activity, credit card transactions, expense reports, customer invoicing, bank activity, and journal entries.
3. Support agency financial workflows to ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, deposits, and payrollrelated entries.
4. Partner with agency personnel to resolve discrepancies in billing, receipts, account coding, and monthend balances.
5. Prepare and record monthly reclassification entries between related entities, ensuring accurate allocation of shared revenue, commission, payroll, and operating expenses.
6. Reconcile intercompany balances and work directly with other accounting teams to resolve variances.
7. Perform detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned agencies, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to GAAP.
8. Support preparation of monthly financial statements, variance explanations, and supporting schedules.
9. Serve as a key accounting resource for newly acquired agencies, supporting onboarding and transition to PlayCore financial systems, policies, and reporting standards.
10. Map historical general ledger accounts to corporate chart of accounts and assist with ERP transitions.
11. Help implement standardized accounting, billing, inventory, and financial documentation procedures across new locations.
12. Train agency personnel on accounting policies, internal controls, and month-end processes.
13. Support internal and external audit requests, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
14. Assist with development of standardized SOPs to ensure consistency across decentralized agencies.
15. Support budget and forecast cycles by providing timely and accurate financial data.
16. Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
* 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multientity, decentralized, or distribution-based environment.
* Experience with intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and consolidations strongly preferred.
* Experience supporting postacquisition integration or system onboarding is a plus.

Travel

Travel of up to 20% may be required to support agency visits and acquisition integrations.

Computer Skills

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.

* Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
* Excellent attention to detail, time management, and ability to support multiple agencies concurrently.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.
