PURPOSE:

This position manages all warehouse locations and personnel at the Porter Plant. The position is responsible to manage and control all aspects of the warehouse.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complies with any applicable federal, state and local laws regarding materials handling
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures including use of proper PPE, safe walking surfaces, proper shelf loading and integrity, and safe operation of equipment
• Ensure that stock and non-stock equipment and parts are delivered or staged properly for unit turnarounds, equipment repairs, and daily maintenance activities
• Manage activities of warehouse assistants, ensuring proper procedures are followed
• Provide development opportunities to warehouse assistants, utilizing on the job and external training, to ensure that best practices are in place
• Partner with departments to adjust reorder points and carrying levels, based on usage and lead time
• Partner with departments to ensure critical spare parts are identified and properly stocked
• Partner with departments to maintain equipment Bills of Material
• Establish new stock part descriptions and numbers in SAP
• Conduct regular cycle counts, reconciling differences
• Identify and disposes of obsolete and slow-moving parts inventory
• Manage shipping and receiving of parts in a timely fashion
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and sales representatives
• Communicate effectively with stock and non-stock internal customers
• Ensure that all parts are properly labeled including details and descriptions
• Must be willing to be on Weekend and Holiday rotational environmental coverage that requires daily plant visits during coverage days

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Bachelor degree preferred
• 5+ years prior warehouse/materials management experience in manufacturing environment

• 2+ years prior supervisory/management experience preferred

SKILLS:

• Good communications skills demonstrated by the ability to write reports and correspondence
• Excellent computer skills, demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, JD Edwards & SAP
• Demonstration of effective leadership and teamwork skills
• Capability of working with all levels of the organization
• Must be self-motivated
