Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support development of the VetSports mobile application, a Java / React Native-based platform designed to support veteran-focused sports and community engagement initiatives.
This internship provides hands-on experience contributing to a production software project. Interns will work alongside experienced developers to build and enhance features within a modern mobile application stack while gaining exposure to DevSecOps practices.
This internship will be performed in a hybrid telework model, with onsite work at Scott AFB as needed.


Duties & Responsibilities

    Develop and maintain features for a Java / React Native mobile application
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Collaborate with software engineers and project stakeholders on application development tasks
  • Participate in code reviews and development discussions
  • Assist with testing, debugging, and improving application performance
  • Gain exposure to DevSecOps workflows including Linux environments and GitLab CI pipelines


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related degree program
  • Junior or Senior standing (actively taking upper-level major coursework)
  • Basic experience with software development concepts and programming
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with React Native
  • Familiarity with mobile application development
  • Exposure to Git or version control systems
  • Basic familiarity with Linux environments or CI/CD concepts
