Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support development of the VetSports mobile application, a Java / React Native-based platform designed to support veteran-focused sports and community engagement initiatives.

This internship provides hands-on experience contributing to a production software project. Interns will work alongside experienced developers to build and enhance features within a modern mobile application stack while gaining exposure to DevSecOps practices.

This internship will be performed in a hybrid telework model, with onsite work at Scott AFB as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and maintain features for a Java / React Native mobile application

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Collaborate with software engineers and project stakeholders on application development tasks
Participate in code reviews and development discussions
Assist with testing, debugging, and improving application performance
Gain exposure to DevSecOps workflows including Linux environments and GitLab CI pipelines

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related degree program
Junior or Senior standing (actively taking upper-level major coursework)
Basic experience with software development concepts and programming
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Java
Experience with React Native
Familiarity with mobile application development
Exposure to Git or version control systems
Basic familiarity with Linux environments or CI/CD concepts
