Position Title: Estimator

Wage: Based on Experience

Our recruiting firm is partnering with a growing, well-established manufacturing organization in Franklin, WI to identify an experienced Product Estimator with a strong background in machining, welding, and metal fabrication. This is a critical role responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates that support the company's sales growth and customer partnerships.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable interpreting technical drawings while working cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, and production teams.

Position Overview:

The Product Estimator will review customer RFQs, develop detailed cost estimates, coordinate supplier pricing, and ensure all quoting documentation is accurate and delivered on time. This person will play a key role in supporting strategic sales initiatives and ensuring the company remains competitive in the machining and welding marketplace.

Process Engineer Responsibilities:

- Review and interpret customer RFQs, machining and welding drawings and technical specifications

- Develop accurate cost estimates using internal data, supplier inputs and engineering support when needed

- Create and maintain cost sheets for all quotes and revisions

- Coordinate with suppliers for material pricing, subcontracted operations and purchased components

- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and purchasing to ensure feasibility and accuracy of estimates

- Submit completed estimates on time and maintain organized quote documentation and logs

- Support the refinement and continuous improvement of estimating tools, templates and processes

- Ensure quotes meet customer requirements while supporting profitability goals

Requirements for Process Engineer:

- At least five years of estimating experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally involving turning, milling, cylindrical grinding, hobbing, broaching, welding (MIG, Subarc, TIG) and mechanical assembly

- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, including GD&T

- ERP system experience required (Epicor E10 a plus)

- Familiarity with CAD software; SolidWorks experience preferred

- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
