Senior Accountant

Boart Longyear's accounting team is looking for a self-motivated, well organized, analytical individual to assist with General Ledger. This is a great opportunity to join a global company with many possibilities of future advancement within the SSC team and the Company. The individual should possess strong communication skills, the ability to work with cross-functional teams, and be eager to contribute to the success of the department and the company. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 3-5 years direct accounting experiences, preferably in a multi-regional organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience using Oracle software a plus
• Understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS
• Experience in working with foreign currency transactions a plus
• Organized and analytical with relentless attention to detail
• Excellent professional communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly closing responsibilities.
• Maintain a master list of monthly journal entries, including accurate and complete work papers with accrual and reversal entries, recording supporting information for all journal entries
• Perform monthly reconciliations, including prepaid accounts, benefit accounts, GST/HST/Use tax accounts and etc
• Assist with audits (both internal and external)
• Communicate, verbally and in writing, with various groups including internal customers and team members to perform work functions.
• Perform Ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as needed
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes and enhance internal controls
