The position is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the Company's Express Brokerage Operations. Incumbent is responsible for delivering high quality and cost- efficient services to customers while meeting the highest standards of compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Manages and continues to develop an expedited and reliable brokerage services that ensure compliance with U.S. Customs & other government agencies.
  • Leads efforts to ensure delivery of the purple promise to customers, including building strong customer and Sales relationships, detecting continuous improvement opportunities, and rigorously measuring customer satisfaction through KPIs.
  • Works as part of the Global Trade leadership team to envision, shape, and execute upon a comprehensive Clearance and Brokerage modernization program
  • Actively leads change management efforts, to include process redesign, technology implementation, and organizational preparedness
  • Promotes and supports recruitment, training and retention policies that ensure consistently high levels of quality, professionalism and experience among staff. Works closely with HR to develop short- and long-range workforce plans that match quantity and quality of talent to business needs.
  • Develops and implements continuous improvement programs to maximize Service and Efficiency, while setting and hitting cost improvement targets
  • Establishes excellent relationships with Sales, Marketing, and regional leaders outside of the US to ensure an end-to-end operating focus for inbound and outbound shipments
  • Co-develops with Sales and Marketing business strategies which allow operations to increase its market share for existing products, expand into related fields & establish profitable operations in new service locations.
  • Represent FedEx to major customers to build long-term business partnership to implement effective strategy to build market share.
  • Working closely with Data & Technology teams, redesign measurement tools, KPIs, standards, and reporting, driving a culture of rigorous performance management
  • Prepare, control, and monitor the annual budget to maintain cost efficiency and achieve budget targets.
  • Other duties as assigned. Travel required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree is required; a customs broker's license is preferred.
  • Position requires a broad knowledge of U.S. Customs (and other federal agencies) organization, regulations, policies & procedures.
  • Position requires knowledge of the air cargo & express consignment industries, U.S. trade laws, international trade agreements
  • Demonstrated ability to shape and lead transformative change across process, people, and technology is critical
  • Ability to embrace new technologies such as AI and apply them to a highly regulated field
  • Strong leadership, management and communication skills are fundamental to this position and a strong commitment to the People-Service-Profit (PSP) philosophy of FedEx is required.
  • The ability to identify, develop and evaluate management talent in others is critical in this position.
  • Incumbent must demonstrate integrity in dealing with others, including customers, vendors and colleagues.
  • The incumbent must rigorously monitor the external environment in order to visualize future opportunities and threats that the organization is likely to face.
