Automotive Techline Agent

Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid - onsite training then mostly remote)

Pay: $33-$36/hour

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Techline Agent to provide technical support and diagnostic assistance to dealership technicians. In this role, you will help troubleshoot complex vehicle issues involving powertrain, hybrid systems, electrical systems, chassis, and body components. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced automotive technicians or dealership professionals who enjoy solving technical problems and supporting service teams.

Responsibilities



  • Provide technical assistance and diagnostic support to dealership technicians via phone and email
  • Handle 30-40 inbound calls daily related to hybrid, powertrain, electrical, body, and chassis systems
  • Guide technicians through advanced vehicle troubleshooting and repair procedures
  • Document case details and update technical service records and support systems
  • Escalate unresolved issues to Tier II support, product engineers, or field technical specialists
  • Provide recommendations for repair strategies and service best practices
  • Maintain knowledge of OEM policies, warranty procedures, and diagnostic tools
  • Support training and mentoring of new Tier I agents once fully trained
  • Deliver professional communication and maintain strong relationships with dealership service teams



Requirements



  • Minimum 5 years of dealership technician experience
  • Strong automotive diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical, hybrid, chassis, and body systems
  • Familiarity with OEM warranty policies, service procedures, and dealership operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for supporting technicians remotely
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and basic Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage high call volumes in a fast-paced technical support environment
  • ASE Master Certification or OEM Master Certification preferred
