Bring your talent to the Critical Communications Networks team as we create and improve applications to enhance device usage and integration with the larger portfolio of Motorola products. The software developer will be a member of a team working on applications for customers utilizing voice and data. The position is available with our team in Schaumburg or Chicago. Job Description

We are seeking smart, self-motivated software engineers to be responsible for designing, developing, unit testing, and integrating software to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of elements of the telecommunication infrastructure. Collaborate with other teams across our global organization. To be successful in this role you must value teamwork and communication as well as working closely with other engineers in small, dynamic, Agile teams.

* Design and develop application software (C, C++) as part of a DevOps team that utilize on-prem technologies (ESXi, KVM, RHEL)
* Creation of embedded Real-Time applications

This position requires the following skills and behaviors:
* Basic knowledge of telecommunications technologies
* Practical knowledge of using a version control system like GIT/Bitbucket
* Experience with devops, continuous integration, and automation environments (eg. Jenkins)

* One or more of the following skills: C, C++,
* Knowledge of Network Protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, UDP)
* Able to break-down product or system level problems into sub-problems that are addressed with innovative designs
* Able to coach and mentor junior engineers
* Able to communicate ideas to engineers and direct managers clearly and concisely

Basic Requirements

* Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
* Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident or have a Master's degree and work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).
* Must have7+ years experiencein Software Engineering.
