Procurement Specialist, Manufacturing Automation

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to support our automation team with the sourcing of components and services for custom automation equipment. This person will be a member of the Tesla Elgin automation group and will help manage the purchasing, pricing, communication, quality and delivery of all purchased components and outside services for the custom automation equipment designed and built at Tesla Elgin.

• Owner of Request for Quotes and ensuring all commercial terms are agreed to and documented
• Evaluate and provide guidance on selection of any new suppliers, proposals and present recommendations that will result in cost savings and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
• Quote/source materials, components, and services to multiple sources daily
• Ensure that Tesla's pricing is best in class for raw materials, purchased components, and outside services
• Drive continual cost reduction
• Manage respective supplier relationships and performance

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent experience
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
• 2 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment or supply chain
• Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate and ability to read and understand a bill of materials
• Experience purchasing in a Job Shop environment and JobBOSS software desired
• Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
