We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist in Technical Purchasing to join our Supply Chain team. In this advanced role, you will be the primary link between our engineering teams and our global supplier base. You will manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for complex, custom-engineered products and systems that power our infrastructure. This is a "Career Level 3" role, meaning you will work with high autonomy, applying in-depth knowledge to solve complex supply chain challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Procurement: Lead negotiations for high-value, long-term contracts, focusing on volume discounts and favorable commercial terms for technical equipment and software.
  • Technical Liaison: Partner with engineering to process requisitions for custom products; maintain a pulse on technology trends and market forces to advise on "make vs. buy" decisions.
  • Contract Management: Manage the day-to-day administration of energy contracts in both regulated and deregulated markets, ensuring all deliverables meet organizational policy and legal compliance.
  • Supplier Relations: Proactively manage supplier performance, including the resolution of defects and delivery delays, and the negotiation of refunds or credits.
  • Risk & Compliance: Ensure all sourcing activities align with risk management, quality, sustainability, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the current procurement workflow and implement innovative, data-driven solutions using change management principles.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in technical procurement, strategic sourcing, or contract management (Utility or Energy sector preferred).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, PMP) is a plus.
  • Technical Savvy: Extensive understanding of technical principles and the ability to interpret engineered product specifications.
  • Software: Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, along with advanced data analysis skills (Excel, Tableau, or Power BI).
  • Compliance: Strong understanding of NERC/CIP requirements and cybersecurity assets is highly preferred.
