Description
The Logistic Analyst, Freight & Systems, will analyze freight expenses across multiple modes and manage transportation systems to ensure the optimal and efficient economic delivery of the organization's products. Build and evaluate freight reporting to support the month-end close, AP, and audit needs, and act as the primary freight analytics contact for the Logistics department.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Strong background in financial cost modeling to supporting month close financials and supply chain projects in the areas of transportation, distribution and logistics.
- Responsible for mining freight and freight payable data from Power BI, TMS and 3rd party vendor systems and formatting into clear reporting for executive leadership to support business projects and recommendations.
- Implement performance improvement processes to continually improve freight expense tracking along with associated cost/service dashboards, key metrics and KPI's.
- Freight savings analysis by mode, lead and support forecasting and budget creation for presentation to VP of Transportation; routine budget analysis breaking down rate and volume variance by DC, mode and end customer.
- Supports RFP lane-level analysis for Logistics Manager and makes recommendations on lane awards and routing guide design for TL and LTL modes while balancing cost and service needs.
- Evolve into SME for new Blue Yonder TMS system and lead in the ownership of all system operational SOPs'. Research all system related load issues to ensure accurate rating of loads and processing to invoicing status.
- Ability to understand parcel, less-than-truck-load and full truck load pricing structures and contracts and how data is updated and managed across multiple platforms for operational execution, invoicing and financial reporting.
- Monitor carrier on-time performance and generate scorecards to drive continuous improvement across carrier routing setups with Traffic management; manage OTIF analytics as requested on occasion.
- Experience with freight auditing parties and systems internally or externally and collaborating closely with Finance and AP for monthly accrual reporting and reconciliation by carrier/vendor.
- Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.
What You Will Need:
- High school diploma or general educational development (GED) diploma or certificate is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Finance, or Supply Chain Finance is preferred.
- Five (5) to Seven (7) years of in-depth financial reporting of freight or supply chain programs is preferred.
- Ability to manage large data sets
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects/requests.
- Fast learner, team player, and aggressive problem solver.
- Strong to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to speak with all levels of the organization and outside partners.
- Ability to communicate complicated information to others.
- Must be proficient in basic mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to do algebra, calculate figures and amounts, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Knowledge of business processes such as profit/loss, profit margins, accounting, and other related principles
- Ability to perform these operations using American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- A methodical and organized approach to problem-solving.
- The work performed is in an office environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Employee is occasionally exposed to vibration and dust.
Salary: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00
